Illegal gold mine collapse in Indonesia, 18 killed



An illegal gold mine located in the remote area in central Indonesia collapsed around noon time on Saturday.

According to Leonardus Sabar Umbara, a local search official, they have already conducted a search and rescue operation. They stopped the operation when all the missing bodies were found. A total of 18 victims were killed; 16 males, and two females.

Illegal gold mining in Indonesia has been rampant due to high demand and price of metals.
