Attorney Martin Singer, who represents those celebrities who their nude photos where stolen and published online, threatened Google for a $100 million lawsuit. On a letter, Singer quoted “Google failed to act quickly and effectively when asked to remove the personal pictures from sites it owns.”
These nude photos of celebrities, models, and athletes, were stolen from their iPhones.
Furthermore, according to Singer’s letter:
“Because the victims are celebrities with valuable publicity rights, you do nothing – – nothing but collect millions of dollars in advertising revenue from your co-conspirator advertising partners as you seek to capitalize on this scandal rather than quash it. Like the NFL, which turned a blind eye while its players assaulted and victimized women and children, Google has turned a blind eye while its sites repeatedly exploit and victimize these women”
On the other hand, Apple made its statement that new security measures are being placed to protect Apple customers from any identity theft.
