So if you haven’t heard about the current state of the Internet in the Philippines. We’ll here’s a very simply infographic that you can easily understand.
Currently, PLDT is rerouting internet traffic through the HKIX (HongKong Internet Exchange) rather than going through the PhOpenIX ( Philippine Open Internet Exchange) as a way to directly send and receive data through the internet without having to be so called “rerouted” to HongKong to get a decent connection.
No wonder, PLDT has high rates for a measly 3 MBPs connection compared to its other Asian neighbors. The monopoly lives on, and even today PLDT continues to screw Filipinos all over again with their so called “rerouting”.
