Five Customs staff, 3 others on rug for passage of underestimated value of vehicles

The vehicles were esteemed at P145 million. Charged were Monacat Trading, its proprietor Rolando Cuevas, administrator Mermelinda de la Cruz and authorized traditions merchant Flaviano de la Cruz.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Friday documented pirating charges against five authorities and workers, and three other private people who were purportedly behind the section of terribly underestimated value of vehicles that entered the Port of Batangas on July 10 and 18, 2015.

The BOC blamed them for “deliberately and falsely” misdeclaring and horribly underdeclaring the genuine and right estimations of the vehicles.
