Job assurance for college professors affected by K to 12 program



The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is showing 13,634 teaching personnel that might possible loss jobs as there will be no graduates in 2016 due to K to 12 program implementation. There will be a two-year no freshmen students because of this program.

As a resolution, the Department of Education (DepEd) has taken the liberty to launch this September the so-called “green lane”. This absorbs college teachers who might loss their jobs. Education Secretary Armin Luistro said that there will be 60,000 jobs to be produced for teachers who will be needed to teach senior high school.

Furthermore, grants are also being offered to colleges to may want to pursue their Masteral or Doctoral degrees.
