On Sunday, people in Metro Manila experienced the lowest temperature for this year. A record-low temperature of 15.8 degrees Celsius felt at Quezon City in the morning, 4:50 a.m.
According to Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the temperature felt was due to the northeast monsoon or amihan. For the record, the lowest temperature ever recorded so far in Metro Manila was 15.1 degrees in February 4, 1987 and December 30, 1998.
Meanwhile in Baguio City, the temperature is still at 9.4 degrees.
Other areas hit by the cold winds are Malaybalay in Bukidnon at 13.6 degrees and Tuguegarao in Cagayan at 13.9 degrees.
