Philip Goldberg, the new US ambassador in the Philippines


The US has sent a new ambassador to coordinate the US assistance and aid sent to the typhoon hit area in the Visayas area. He will replace Harry Thomas, Jr. who has completed his three years in duty in the Philippines.

On the other hand, the US has sent military aircrafts, warships, and other equipments to help aid affected areas in the Philippines. One of the US aid was sending its USS George Washington that carries 5,000 sailors and at least 80 aircraft to help evacuate victims and to carry relief goods.
