PWD tax exemption awaits PNoy’s approval


Senator Grace Poe is speaking to President Aquino to sign a measure looking to absolved persons with incapacities (PWDs) from paying the 12 percent value-added tax (VAT) on specific goods and services.

The proposed VAT exception should apply on the to the following: medical and dental services, purchase of medicines in all drugstores, public railways, skyways and bus fare; admission fees on theaters, cinema houses, concert halls, circus, carnivals and other places of culture, leisure and amusement; and all services in hotels and similar lodging establishments, restaurants, and recreation center once endorsed by President Aquino.
